Edison Police Explorer Halloween Trick or Treat Program

On Mischief night, October 30th, and Halloween night, October 31st, several Edison Police Officers will be providing ride-alongs for members of the Edison Police Explorer Post # 215.

Each officer involved in the program will be assigned two (2) or three (3) police explorers in which they are responsible for during the scheduled ride-along from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Not only are our police officers & explorer members out in force with high-visibility patrol, but they are also armed with trick or treat bags with candy on Halloween.

Officers and explorers on patrol will distribute the candy to children encountered trick-or-treating. Officers and explorers alike will also deliver Halloween safety tips and engage in conversation with the children during each positive contact.

All of the candy for distribution was graciously donated to the Edison Police Explorer Post # 215 by one of our local supporters, Oak Tree Road Shoprite. The value for our officer's time on this night is demonstrated in the aimed development and mentorship of our community's youth.

This program also allows the parents and children to view our police officers in a positive image and encourage participation in the police explorer program.

Any interested young people, ages 14-21 in joining Edison Police Explorer Post #215, should contact Detective Michael Loreti at 732-248-7431 or via email.
